INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION IN EDUCATION: METIS ASSOCIATION HOSTS ERASMUS+ EVENT
In a bid to foster international cooperation and enrich educational experiences, the Metis Association organized a remarkable event under the Erasmus+ program. Bringing together students and teachers from France, Spain, Romania, and Turkey, this event aimed to expand horizons, exchange knowledge, and bridge cultural gaps.
A total of 12 students and 7 teachers traveled from different corners of Europe to participate in this cross-cultural gathering. The event was held in the picturesque city of Izmir, Turkey. The attendees had the unique opportunity to interact with students from Ferzent Bulum Anatolian High School in Izmir, as well as engage with Emre Yıldız, a Computer Engineering student from Izmir High Technology Institute.
A key highlight of the event was the dynamic learning sessions. Emre Yıldız, with his expertise in the field, delivered hour-long workshops on WordPress development, giving participants hands-on experience in creating and managing websites. The digital era demands more than just technical skills, and to address this, enlightening sessions on Digital Marketing were also organized. These workshops were designed to empower students with the tools needed to navigate the online world effectively.
Beyond the classroom, the event was equally rich in cultural exchange. Students and teachers were able to share their diverse backgrounds, traditions, and perspectives. This exchange fostered a deeper understanding of different cultures, encouraging participants to embrace diversity and global perspectives.
The event left an indelible mark on all attendees. Students not only gained technical knowledge but also developed friendships that transcended borders. Teachers found inspiration in each other’s teaching methods and approaches. This event serves as a foundation for future collaborations, as participants expressed their enthusiasm for continuing the exchange of ideas and practices even after the event.
The Erasmus+ event organized by the Metis Association exemplifies the potential of international collaboration in education. It showcases the power of shared experiences, knowledge transfer, and the cultivation of a global mindset. As participants return to their respective countries, they carry with them not only new skills but also a broader perspective that will undoubtedly shape their future endeavors. This event stands as a testament to the value of education as a unifying force that knows no borders.
